i learnt a massive variety of new skills and rules and i also found that i was a visual learner because watching and learning actually taught me very well. when i started getting involved with the team i had to master the basics and learn how the sport is played professionally as a team. this is when i started to pick up a new, very important skill; listening and being part of the team. I came to a realization point that I am very good at working among and along with other people, even if i don't know them. I picked up leadership skills since when in the team on the pitch, everyone is a leader. it's very important to know how to communicate with someone from a distance and make them listen. I picked this up on the field during the matches we had against BKK Lions; it started when i tried raising my voice to get my team mates attention but i later figured that if i just tell him normally it will be easier and he will more likely want to pay attention. i learnt that in different situations different ways of leading are needed, for example to lead a team you need to listen, to lead individuals you need to be a role model.

Rugby
Firstly i started off with touch rugby which involved little technique within a team. although there was little skill involved other than being quick and agile i still learnt how to focus better on one particular thing. When i got focused into the sport i moved on to real rugby which involved new techniques and styles of playing.

Mercy Centre
On campus I first became the service pillar leader for the St George's boarding house, this gave me opportunity to take on tasks such as this one. my first objective as service leader was to set up something that involved service so i decided that i should help to educate people rather than to just give. My idea was to start swimming classes for not as fortunate orphans from the local mercy centre. This class takes part on sundays when I am available to be on campus. my service project involves making teaching plans for the orphans; for each sunday i have to make new swimming plans. The plans are made so that each week the children would learn a new skill each week and possibly use a previously learned skill in the next session. I would also provide these children with lunch after the activity. To run my activity i have to find volunteers who may be available and discuss with them how the next session will go.
the project in which i have to teach also teaches me in return. it teaches me many new skills in which i may use in different aspects. giving orders to younger children can be hard because you need to find a technique that makes them listen to you and make them pay attention. although i am only teaching young children the same skills apply with older people such as my classmates.
Leading people is by far a very difficult task because it requires knowledge of the field. becoming a leader helps you learn more efficient ways of gathering knowledge and therefore being prepared. I learnt this through trail and error with my project. Leading the group i have found many new ways in which i can help lead the group into success.
This project was very successful because not only did it benefit the mercy children it also benefited my group since every member was learning a new skill. It also benefit the school in general because it creates a reputation that shows that the students in the school have the skill, passion and organization to create their own projects.
all these skills i have learnt from leading this activity will benefit my life in the future since i have improved my communication skills, my leadership skills and also my skills in thinking about issues and finding new ways to resolve them.
the leadership skill will benefit my career in the future because it will help me to build my status and work towards the top, this may lead to a more successful career for me in the future.
my communication skills will benefit my ability to engage in conference discussions and also it helps me to be more commanding therefore i can learn to be a better and more effective leader.
my new ability to find solutions will help benefit other around in my community and also myself if i am to find myself in a troublesome situation.
i have also learnt to organize events and this will benefit in my ability to organize schedule which will help me in becoming more organized for future situations.
